home to the highest peak in Southeast Asia, Mount Kinabalu and also to Kinabalu
National Park, a World Heritage Site. Kota Kinabalu was formerly known as Jesselton, is the capital state of Sabah. Jesselton Town
(previously Api-Api) was named after Sir Charles Jessel, one of the Directors
of British North Borneo Chartered Company.
